- Never Let Go (song)
-
Never Let Go is the first single released by the progressive rock band Camel in November 1972[1]. The B-side of the single is the Peter Bardens song "Curiosity." It is from their debut album Camel (1973)[2] and it is considered as their most memorable and well-known song. In addition to the single version, cut down from the album version, the band has recorded live versions of the song on three different live albums and it was contained in a compilation. The song is considered the band's most popular song to perform live.[3] Writing the song is credited to guitarist Andrew Latimer and it is still today a big success around the world. Versions of the song have amassed half a million youtube hits, several decades after its release.[4]

Structure
The song starts with Latimer playing a 10 seconds part four times as other instruments fill the song. Then comes the first verse where Peter Bardens sings. There is a small playing and then again the second verse with Peter Bardens singing. After there is a long keyboard solo by Bardens and comes the last verse. After the last verse there is a guitar solo by Latimer until the ending of the song where it fades out.
Generally
The song's name is used as the title to the band's 1993 live album with the same name.
Opeth's song Benighted resembles very much Camel's Never Let Go.
