Early career

Nemesis (Real Name: Leshek Bonfield) emerged onto the UK Hip Hop scene back in 2001, at the age of 16, when his talent was spotted by the management team behind Kemet Entertainment Records[1] (Klashnekoff), resulting in Nemesis being offered the chance to host DJ Flip’s (Mud Fam) weekly radio show on the legendary UK Hip Hop pirate radio station Itch FM. Within a year, Nemesis had honed his rapping, hosting and production skills, premiered in a limelight stealing appearance on Itch FM’s first mix CD: The Lost City on a self produced track called - 'Forget About It'.[2]

Through mutual friends Nemesis was introduced to another rapper from the same locality and mentality – Arrogance (Real Name: David Williams). Excited by Arrogance's extreme lyrical ability, Nemesis invited Arrogance into the studio to lace some tracks, and soon realised their contrasting styles actually complimented each other. During these initial sessions an impenetrable partnership was born.

Subsequently Nemesis & Arrogance officially formed a duo, cemented by the fact that shortly afterwards when they were offered their own radio show on London’s infamous Itch FM called the Tuesday Tune In Show (which was extremely popular, receiving up to 500 missed calls an hour at the shows height of popularity!).[3] Unfortunately the show had to end in 2004/5 when Nemesis had to pack his bags and set off for University in Brighton to study Music Production.

Lend Me Your Ears

During this period Nemesis & Arrogance continued to record and produce together, culminating in the release of their independent debut album ‘Lend Me Your Ears’,[4] which created an underground buzz with the success of the first two singles taken from the album (‘Change Your Heart’ Feat.Skinnyman,[5] & ‘No Peace’[6]), which between them received airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra,[7] Kiss FM, Choice FM, Itch FM, Pyroradio.Com & Hhbradio.Com, heavy music video rotation on Channel U & MTV Base and positive reviews in RWD Mag, Hip Hop Connection, Big Smoke and DJ Magazine.[8] (in which we were compared to “"Goodie Mobb",or early "Outkast", ”.)

Touring

The success of Change Your Heart also led to Nemesis & Arrogance being invited on the road to tour the country with UK Hip Hop legend Skinnyman, performing in London (Minstry Of Sound, Fabric and others), Bristol, Brighton, Cambridge, Coventry, Exeter, Hull, Limington Spar, Manchester, Newquay, Oxford, Southampton and Swindon, playing alongside artists such as Sway, Klashnekoff, The Foreign Beggars [9] & L.Man and opening for acts such as the legendary "Sugar Hill Gang".[10]

Da Real Sho

In order to promote their album material, Nemesis & Arrogance got back on the airwaves, with a new recruit – DJ Form & launched Da Real Sho, which was broadcast on Itch FM, WWW.HHBRADIO.COM & Xtreme FM respectively throughout 2007-2008, playing the latest in UK music & airing exclusive interviews - past guests on the show included:N Dubz, Aftershock Crew, Bashy, Wretch 32, Skinnyman & Lil’ Jiggs, Sincere, Faith SFX, Lady NY, Jehst, Flirta D & Skata Records, DJ IQ, Assavoiur, Doubledge, First Man Productions, MR Ti2bs, MR Drastick, The IRS, Suga DZL, Innercircuit & Nutty P.

Da Real Sho sessions culminated in the 21 track, 100% originally produced, radio-show-themed Mixtape, spawned from their popular radio show of the same name. The explosive mixture of exclusive interviews and brand new original material, resulted in an introspective, reality driven depiction of the trials and tribulations experienced by today’s hottest artists in their pursuit of fame, success & money, through the eyes of the following 25 commentators: Bashy, Wretch 32, Skinnyman, Sincere, Flirta D, Faith SFX, MR Ti2bs, MR Drastick, Supar Novar, Jelluzz, Nutty P, Suga DZL, Lazy Habits, Mark Henry, Skata, Lary B, Big Ben, Rapper Ragz, Twink Blu Tac, Innercircuit, Miz Undastood, TJ Chill & Starry Dayz.
