Nematocarcinoidea is a superfamily of shrimp, comprising three families – Eugonatonotidae, Nematocarcinidae and Rhynchocinetidae.^[1] They share the presence of strap-like epipods on at least the first three pairs of pereiopods, and a blunt molar process.^[2] The family Xiphocarididae (containing the genus Xiphocaris) was formerly included.^[3]
