Naxatra News, the news and current affairs channel on Orissa, is the first 24 hour news channel of NK Media Ventures and has taken giant strides ever since its inception in 2009.^{[citation needed]} It is the first 24-hour Oriya current affairs and news channel in Orissa. Promoted by Prabhat Ranjan Mallick , naxatranews is the group’s maiden foray into media. The group is keen to go beyond the channel and ultimately become a symbol of convergence media, through a synergized growth in electronic and other media as well.^{[citation needed]}
