The National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) is an American organization which offers support to people and families with Down syndrome, as well as educating the general public about Down syndrome. The organization was founded in 1979. The missions and values of the NDSS are to "be the national advocate for the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome", and helps people with Down syndrome to "have the opportunity to enhance their quality of life, realize their life aspirations, and become valued members of welcoming communities."[2][3]
