Biography
- Graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1969, scholarly degree of Doctor of Economics (1973).
- Served as a diplomat in the USA and the PRC (1973-1985). Speaks English and Korean.
- Delivered more than 200 lectures in over 85 Universities, Colleges and Research Centers in 15 countries, including Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, G.Washington Universities, University of California, Rand, Cambridge, Oxford, Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul National, Australian National, up to 130 presentations at multinational conferences in 20 countries. More than 200 interviews to TV, radio, newspapers and magazines in 30 countries.
- Academic advisor of 9 PhD dissertations defended by ROK President Kim Dae-jung, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Zhumart Tokaev and many prominent Russian politicians, educators, diplomats.
- Author of 16 books, 25 book chapters and over 400 articles on Chinese, Korean, Japanese, ASEAN, Asian-Pacific, US, European, Middle Eastern affairs, foreign policies and internal problems of Russia, CIS countries(published in Russia, USA, ROK, PRC, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Germany, Britain, Singapore, Israel, Italy, Austria, Iran, Switzerland, Syria). Editor of 20 books and other publications.
