- Naked Capitalism
-
Naked Capitalism is a popular blog published by Yves Smith, a pen name of Susan Webber, the Principal of Aurora Advisors, Inc., a management consulting firm. The blog deals mainly with finance-related and economic news and analysis, with a particular focus throughout 2010-11 on legal and ethical issues involving the banking industry and problems with the mortgage foreclosure process. As well as the serious financial content, the blog includes a daily animal photo in a feature called 'Antidote du jour,' to provide light relief from a gloomy financial world[1]. Unlike most knowledgeable financial blogs, Naked Capitalism is very critical of the industry as well as of economic inequality, and of both the Republican and Democratic parties, although Yves is also critical of Marxism.
As of February 21, 2011, the blog is ranked seventh in business authority by Technorati.[2]
The blog was also ranked in 2009 as among the best financial blogs currently being published.[3]
As of February 11, 2011, Naked Capitalism is the fourth most visited business and economics blog on the web.[4]
