Nakano Sun Plaza (中野サンプラザ Nakano San Puraza ) is a hotel in Nakano, Tokyo. The hotel includes a concert hall, the Nakano Sun Plaza Hall.
Nakano Sun Plaza Hall
Built in 1973,[1] this concert hall seats 2,222 people[2] and attracts performers from around the world[3]. Its advanced sound system[4] has several unique features.
Singer David Cassidy performed to a sell out crowd here on 26th March 1974 as part of his extensive farewell world tour.
The German hard rock band Scorpions, performed a concert at the Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo and recorded their 1978 live album Tokyo Tapes there.
The English punk band The Clash, performed at the Nakano Sun Plaza on February 1, 1982, during their 'Far East Tour'.
The influential metal band Dead End held their last concert here on January 21, 1990.[5]
It was the last place in Japan where Nirvana performed on February 19, 1992. The bands only concert tour in Japan was between February 14 and 19, 1992.
In August 26, 1993, the American progressive metal band Dream Theater performed a concert here and recorded their first video album Images and Words: Live in Tokyo.
