Andhra PradeshPolitical party Congress party Religion Hindu Nadendla Manohar (born 6 April 1964) is an Indian legislator in the AP Legislative Assembly and is Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.[1] He represents Tenali constituency. He belongs to the Congress party.[2]
Early life
Nadendla Manohar is an Economics graduate from Nizam College. He also has an M.B.A. from Osmania University. [3]
Career
Nadendla Manohar is from the Indian National Congress party. He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Tenali Constituency in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh in 2004 and again in 2009.
He was nominated as a Panel Speaker from October, 2005 & was elected as the Deputy Speaker from June 2009 to June 2011.
He was elected as The 18th Hon’ble Speaker of Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly from June 2011.
Son of former Chief Minister Nadendla Bhaskar Rao, Manohar has been taking an active part in both Public and Legislative Affairs.
He had served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Primary School Education Program (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) and also as the Chairman of the Assembly Library committee. He is presently serving in the Committee on Environment & Forest Protection.
Apart from participating in Commonwealth Parliamentary Meetings, he has attended various Conferences on official assignments in several countries. Recently he has lead a Government of Andhra Pradesh – Industry Delegation to State of Washington, USA.
He participated in 5th International Parliamentary Governance on Transparency at Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, UK in November, 2010.
He participated in 57th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference held in London, U.K. in July, 2011
He was also a Nationally ranked Tennis player.
