35 Denton (formerly named NX35 and "35 Conferette") is a music festival and conference that takes place every March in Denton, Texas. 35 Conferette first began in 2009 and is centered on the historic Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square. Its first year featured 124 bands and over 4,000 fans.[1] 2010 featured 250 acts and attracted an audience of 20,000. The 2011 festival took place March 10-13.
Some notable band participants include The Flaming Lips, Mavis Staples, Big Boi, Dr. Dog, !!!, Portugal. The Man, Dan Deacon, The Walkmen, and Midlake.[2]
An estimate of 4,000-6,000 people attended the second 35 Conferette.[3]
As of July, 2011, the festival has been renamed 35 Denton.[4]
