Construction
A keel laying ceremony was held at the Marinette Marine Corporation shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin, on June 21, 2011, and the ship was sponsored by Pamela Lasker, daughter of the ship's namesake. Reuben Lasker is being funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.[1]
