History
The Hungarian company was founded in 2004, and introduced its first international software called iGO My way 2006 at the CeBIT trade fair in Hanover, Germany in March 2006.[2] Thanks to the breakthrough map compression technology the fast and feature-rich product already then fitted on a 1GB SD-card. At CeBIT 2008 the company unveiled the industry’s first real 3D visualization software (Nav N Go iGO 8).[3] iGO amigo, the intuitive and easy-to-learn software was introduced at CeBIT 2009 for first-time navigation users.[4] Later in 2009 iGO My way for Mobile was launched, running on the most popular mobile platforms including iPhone.[5] At CeBIT 2010 iGO primo was introduced, the company’s new premium navigation solution which combines years of experience from working with navigation partners worldwide.[6][7] In December 2010 the company was renamed from Nav N Go Kft. to NNG Kft.[8]
Markets
The iGO Engine has its roots in the PND (Personal Navigation Device) industry, but its adaptability means that it can be ported to all standard platforms in all segments of navigation.
Automotive
As provider of white-labeled navigation solutions and developer of the iGO Navigation range, NNG has expanded its focus into solutions for automotive line-fit, dealer-fit and automotive aftermarket.[9] Providing turn-key navigation solutions for infotainment systems and navigation components as Software Development Kits (SDK), this robust and reliable navigation solution already counts an extensive list of international customers, among them multiple Tier 1 suppliers.[10]
iGO navigation solutions for PND are extremely versatile and stable. Both ready-to-use and fully customized products can be ported to devices within a short amount of time and will run reliably even on devices with modest hardware capabilities.[11]
Wireless
iGO My way™ for Mobile is a popular navigation solution for mobile handsets with an easy-to-use user interface and a diverse range of mobile features. The application is available for end users with iPhone on App Store, and is delivered as Android and Windows Mobile navigation solutions to smartphone manufacturers and network providers.[12]
Partners
Companies which use Nav N Go 3D software include Asus, Clarion, HP, Nextar and the Go!Explore extension to the Sony PlayStation Portable.[13] Mio used Nav N Go software in its devices (C310) but in January 2008 it was announced that Nav N Go would no longer supply software to Mio.[14] Nav N Go works in partnership with Loquendo for its TTS (Text to Speech) technology.[15] Nav N Go announced its partnership with QNX Software Systems to offer a combination of Nav N Go software with QNX's operating system.[16]
