Simon Hafeni "Mzee" Kaukungwa born on October 6, 1919 is a Namibian politician, war veteran, and founding member of SWAPO. He was born at Ohalushu village in Ovamboland.[1]
History
Mzee attended primary school at Ohalushu Finnish Missionary School between 1923 and 1938 and later continued his studies at Ongwediva Training College in 1939.
Family
He's the son of Reverend Nghishidubi Nghoshi Sam Noah Kaukungwa ka-Shangheta and Hifikepunye Rebecca (Nee Nangolo). He is the third of 12 children. His siblings are Monica Ningaendunge, Polly Nghoshi, late Chief Setson Kamati, Naemi Kauna, Steven Shapua, Meriam Silvia Aishe-Oiwa and Helvi Ndapewashali Nanghelo.
