My Sad Captains are an alternative indie band from London, signed to Stolen Recordings.[1]
Contents
History
The band, whose name comes from a poem by the Anglo-American poet Thom Gunn,[2] released their debut album 'Here & Elsewhere' in 2009, having previously released 7" singles on Fortuna Pop! and White Heat Records.[3]
Their second album, produced by the band and mixed by Larry Crane,[4] is slated for release in 2011. On May 11, 2011, they premiered a new song, The Homefront Pt. II, from the album on their website.[5]
They have previously performed at several UK festivals such as End of the Road Festival,[6] The Great Escape Festival,[7] Hard Rock Calling[8] and British Sea Power's Sing Ye From The Hillsides festival at the Tan Hill Inn.[9] They also appeared at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas in 2009.[10]
