Musamba, Kenya

Musamba is both a sub-location and small village located close to Musamba River and Khalaba River in Western Kenya. It is a small market place that came into existence in the 1930s. Musamba is known for its Market days on Mondays and Thursdays. According to recent surveys, the Musamba location has a population of about 2,500 people.

Musamba started as a small market in the 1930s by the then-chief of the location, Atanas Wamache Kong'ani. Atanas was a sub-chief in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Musamba has since grown into a small vibrant market and is known for its hospitality and its close relationship to football. One of the most famous football teams associated with the village is Youth Olympic Football Club, created by Onyango Roboti Makhanu in the 1990s.

Some of the notable people associated with Musamba area include the late Atanas Wamache, Charles Ngurete, Roboti Makhanu, Ibrahimu Kong'ani, Atanas Wamache, Gabriel Wanjera, Makokha Matsukhu, Musambayi, Augustine Makau, Romano Juma, Cornell Wamache, Mutiboko, Bushuru, and Yakobo.
