It was produced for Five by World Productions who previously produced the television series The Cops.[1] The series consisted of three two-part stories.[2] Later repeats edited the two-parters so that they were screened as three longer running episodes.[3]
According to series creator Declan Croghan, "Murder Prevention is the first pre-crime drama ever, anywhere."[1]

Overview
The series followed the work of the fictitious Murder Prevention Unit (MPU) as they attempted to prevent murders from taking place.
