Bilal Murat Demir (born on 22 January 1974 in Doğubeyazıt) is a Turkish footballer. He currently plays for Gölcükspor.^[1]

Career

Demir played for Izmitspor,^[2] Darıca Gençlerbirliği SK,^[3] Kaynarcspor^[4] and last for Austrian 2. Landesliga Ost club SC Himberg in Niederösterreich between February 2009.^[5]

North York Astros

On May 27, 2009 the North York Astros under newly appointed head coach Uğur Çimen announced the signing of Demir for the 2009 season.^[6] He made his debut for the Astros in a 2-0 defeat away at St. Catharines on June 3, 2009. However Demir struggled with form and injuries throughout the earlier part of the season; which restricted him to only appear in five matches.^[7] After the departure of Çimen, Demir was deemed surplus to new head coach Vladimir Klinovsky and was subsequently released midway through the season; in order to make room for Klinovsky's new additional signings.
