Dr. Muntassir Mamoon (Bengali: মুনতাসীর মামুন) is an award winning Bangladeshi author, historian, scholar/researcher, translator and professor of Dhaka University. He got his M.A and Phd degree from Dhaka University. Dr. Muntassir Mamoon is the nephew of Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir.

Works on Dhaka
Dr. Muntassir Mamoon mainly worked on the historical city of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh since 1971. He wrote several books about this city, took part in movements to save Dhaka. All his works on Dhaka have been combined in one volume.
Works on Liberation War
Among other historical works on 1971, his Sei Sob Pakistani is very famous. In this book, many leading Pakistani's interview was published. Most of them were the leading Pakistani character during the liberation war of Bangladesh.
Greatest Achievement
Winning the law suit with General Safiullah where High Court verdicted to maintain the historic locations at Sarwardy Uddyan and all over Bangladesh. Dr. Mamoon's courage will be a mile stone in the history of Bangladesh. His achievement will be a part of our history and the best thing after the liberation of Bangladesh
Writing and translations
In 1980s and 1990s, Muntassir Mamoon wrote and translated some thrillers, horrors and science ficiton stories.
