- Muireadhach mac Aedh
-
Muireadhach mac Aedh, Lord of Clann Cosgraigh, died 1124.
Muireadhach was a grandson of Rúaidhri Ua Flaithbheartaigh (died 1061), who at the time of his death was King of Iar Connacht.
The Annals of the Four Masters, sub anno 1124, state that Muireadhach (i.e.e, lord of Clann-Cosgraigh), the son of Aedh, son of Ruaidhri O Flaitbhertaigh, died an ecclesiastic.
Muireadhach's immediate descendants adopted the surname Mac Aedha. Like their O Flaibhbertaigh cousions, they were of the Muintir Murchada.
The surname is now rendered McHugh or Hughes.
