Haji Muhammad Hanif Ansari or M. H. Ansari (born December 23, 1937 at Mansuran Village, Ludhiana District, East Punjab, India - April 30, 1985 in Lahore) was a well-known politician, businessman and philatelist who died at age 48 following a road accident.
Life
He was born December 23, 1937 at Mansuran Village, Ludhiana district in East Punjab in British India. After the partition of India he came to Pakistan and graduated from government college Faisalabad in 1960.
He served as the General Secretary of Jamiat Itehad-Ul-Ansar Faisalabad from 1973, and was elected first Ansari Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from Ghulam Muhammad Abad in 1985. Ansari was a quiet but forceful man with a ready smile and greetings for all. He was an advanced Stamp collector, specializing in Pakistan, and became member of the Glasgow Philatelic Society and the Philatelic Traders Society during his stay in U.K. visiting an international stamp exhibition. His knowledge and appreciation of philately soon promoted him to president of Pakistan Philatelic Writers League, Vice President of Pakistan Stamp Dealers and Associates, Lahore Commissioner for National Stamp Exhibition "Pak philex 83" for Faisalabad and advisor of the stamps catalogue Collect Pakistan Postage Stamps.
Family
Talat Hanif Ansari is the elder son of Muhammad Hanif Ansari. A businessman, social worker and vice president of Jamiat Itehad-Ul-Ansar Faisalabad, he is also a philatelist and works to promote philately in Pakistan.
