Mrityunjay (TV series)

Mrityunjay (TV series)

Mrityunjay is an Indian television series based on the celebrated Marathi novel by Shivaji Sawant directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi.[1] It was telecast on Doordarshan in 1996.[2] The series takes a look at the events in the Mahabharata from the perspective of Karna, a major character in the epic. The thought was originally taken from M.M.Singh and D.K.Gupta.[citation needed]

Though the series garnered many awards at the 3rd Screen Videocon Awards including Best Serial, Best Director (Dwivedi) and Best Art Direction (Muneesh Sappel),[3][4][5] it was abruptly terminated for unknown reasons.[6]
