Mount Malone

Mount Malone (77°52′S 85°36′W / 77.867°S 85.6°W / -77.867; -85.6) is a mountain (2,460 m) located 8 nautical miles (15 km) east of Mount Barden in the north part of the Sentinel Range, Ellsworth Mountains. First mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos 1957-59. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Captain Wallace R. Malone, United States Air Force (USAF), who participated in the establishment of the South Pole Station in the 1956-57 season.
