Mount Kauffman (75°37′S 132°25′W / 75.617°S 132.417°W) is a prominent mountain (2,365 m) that surmounts the northwest end of Ames Range in Marie Byrd Land. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959-65. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Commander S.K. Kauffman, U.S. Navy, staff civil engineering officer who supervised the planning and building of Plateau Station, 1965-66.
