Mount Galla (75°56′S 125°52′W / 75.933°S 125.867°W) is a snow-capped mountain (2,520 m) which rises above the Usas Escarpment, 31 nautical miles (60 km) east of Mount Petras, in Marie Byrd Land. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959-65. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Lieutenant Edward J. Galla, U.S. Navy, who was medical doctor and leader of support personnel at Byrd Station, 1959.
