Mount Dewey

Mount Dewey (65°54′S 64°19′W / 65.9°S 64.317°W / -65.9; -64.317) is a mountain, 1,830 m, standing 8 nautical miles (15 km) southeast of Mount Cheops on the west coast of Graham Land. Charted by the British Graham Land Expedition (BGLE) under Rymill, 1934-37. Named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1959 for Melvil Dewey (1851–1932), American originator of the Dewey Decimal Classification, from which the Universal Decimal Classification is derived.
