Mount Curl

Mount Curl (70°48′S 63°7′W / 70.8°S 63.117°W / -70.8; -63.117) is the snow-covered summit of a ridge located 4 nautical miles (7 km) east-northeast of Mount Gatlin, just northeast of the Welch Mountains in Palmer Land. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) in 1974. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for James E. Curl, United States Antarctic Research Program (USARP) glaciologist in the South Shetland Islands, 1971–72, 1972–73 and 1973-74.
