Motijheel Government Boys' High School (Bengali: মতিঝিল সরকারি বালক উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়), or popularly known Central Government School, is one of the top ranked schools in Bangladesh.^{[citation needed]} It was established in 1957 as Central Government Boys' School.

In 2008 the government of Bangladesh declared it a provider of Higher Secondary Education.^{[citation needed]}

In the liberation war of Bangladesh

Many brave students of this school gave their life during the liberation war.

BNCC

Motijheel Government Boys' High school is a part of BNCC(BANGLADESH NATIONAL CADET CORPS).

Awarded 1st position in singing In 1973 jamboree,at mouchak. The troup leader was Zia(1977 batch) the song was written,composed and performed by Hanif Mohammad (Bachchu 1978 batch)& Abu Osman(Zia 1978 batch)later this song became very popular in scouting. This song was performed live in presence of Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and played as a documentary in many cinema halls before the movies.

Red Crescent

The school has a Red Crescent Unit to help poor people affected by floods and other natural calamities.

Debating Club

Motijheel Govt. Boys' School Debating Club (MGBSDC) was founded in the year 1996. Since then, it has become on of the best school level debating clubs of the country. MGBSDC enjoys the pride of producing great and quality debaters like Ashrauf Islam Sagor , Shahriar Shakil, Ayon Quayum, Tarek Hasan and so forth.Every year they organize inter school debate competition , inter class debate compitition . In 2009 they started to organize children debate .In 2010 they started organizing Club debate ( university and college ) competition and MGBSDc is only school level club who organizes club debate in Bangladesh .In this year they organized 11th inter school , 3rd Children 2nd Club debate competition and workshop and total 80 teams participated. MGBSDC was awarded best debating club in 2008.^{[citation needed]}

English Language Club

Motijheel Government Boys' High school also have an English language club.

In 2001, in National School Cricket (Nirman School Cricket), Motijheel Government Boys' High School set the highest score (372/6 from 40 overs, Asif Reza 169, Musa 72, Mukit 66*). The record still stands.^{[citation needed]}
