Source: Ground profileMoss Lane is a cricket ground in Alderley Edge, Cheshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1961, when Cheshire Cricket Conference played Midlands Club Cricket Conference.[1] The ground was first used by Cheshire in 1973, when they played the Lancashire Second XI in the Minor Counties Championship. From 1973 to present, the ground has hosted 49 Minor Counties Championship matches.[2]
The ground has also hosted List-A matches. The first List-A match on the ground was between Cheshire and Hampshire in the 2004 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy. In 2008, Lancashire used the ground for a List-A match against Bangladesh A, to date the last List-A match held on the ground.[3]
In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Alderley Edge Cricket Club[4] who play in the Cheshire County Cricket League.
