Morris the Midget Moose is a 8-minute 1950 Walt Disney cartoon, originally released to theaters on November 24, 1950 from The Walt Disney Studios, originally released by RKO Radio Pictures and then, Buena Vista Distribution Co. Ltd for its re-release. It was co-directed by Jack Hannah and Charles Nichols, the story was created by Bill Berg, written by Eric Gurney, Bill de la Torre, produced by Walt Disney, music by Oliver Wallace, animation by Jack Boyd, Jerry Hathcock, George Kreisl and George Nicholas, layouts by Karl Karpe, the backgrounds by Ray Huffine and was based on the original story by Frank Owen.
In this cartoon, the bootle beetle (from Donald Duck cartoons, such as Bootle Beetle, The Greener Yard and Sea Salts) tells his children the story of Thunderclap, a mean moose who dominated the forest by butting heads every other moose. Morris the Midget Moose is a small moose with large antlers, and meets up one day with Balsam, a large moose who was insecure about the fact his antlers were small. Morris and Balsam became good friends by working together to get their revenge on Thunderclap. The two finally defeat Thunderclap by challenging him, where Morris stands on Balsam's back. The combined strength of Morris and Balsam becomes too tough for Thunderclap, and the two moose are thanked for freeing the moose community from Thunderclap's bullying.
