Moroccan Association of Friends of English

Moroccan Association of Friends of English

The Moroccan Association of Friends of English (MAFE) is the first association in Morocco to target affinity with the English language. Friends of English (including students, teachers, and native speakers who live in Morocco) meet to share knowledge and exchange ideas.

Established in 2009 in the old medina of Fez, MAFE serves the process of learning English in Morocco by holding educational, cultural, and artistic activities to enhance proficiency in speaking English, to provide the opportunity for language practice, to encourage scientific research in English, to create the opportunity for cross-cultural communication, to facilitate the process of recruiting students of English, to help students apply for scholarships, universities and programmes, and to promote the values of citizenship, tolerance, creativity and co-operation among young Moroccans.

Activities

To achieve its goals, MAFE organizes various activities including workshops, trips, lectures, forums, visits, campaigns, sport activities, conferences, group discussions, artistic activities, and festivals.

Online e-classroom

MAFE has a Facebook group with thousands of members. It is an e-classroom of MAFE, created under the idea that learning is not only attending classes at universities and schools where the role of students is to listen to lectures, but with the e-classroom and the appearance of new media in general, the concept of learning has been changed from its old definition of only acquiring information.
