Moorunde Wildlife Reserve is a 70 km2 nature reserve in South Australia near Blanchetown. To the south it is adjoining to Yookamurra Sanctuary. Moorunde is managed by the Natural History Society of South Australia.
Moorunde has been established in 1968 mainly to protect the Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat. Their number has been risen from 200 to now ca. 600 animals, which is claimed to be the largest population existing. The general landscape is formed by mallee woodlands and shrublands. A fence protects the vegetaion from grazing by domestic animals, like sheep, which allowed the vegeation under the trees to recover. The size of the reserve has been enlarged recently from about 20 km2 to over 70 km2 .
