History
Established in 1911, it initially focused on construction and electrical engineering projects. In the 1920s, with the development of the oil and gas industry, the company grew and became involved in inspection and other technical services. The first international office was opened in Japan in 1948 and expansion into Europe followed in the 1960s.
The company has continued to grow in recent years, including through acquisition. It featured in the Sunday Times Deloitte Buyout Track 100 league table of the UK’s 100 private equity-backed mid-market companies with the fastest growing profits over 2 years in 2008 and in 2007. Today, with 80 offices in over 60 countries, it is one of the world's largest multi-national technical service organisations.[citation needed]

Moody International's 100th AnniversaryIn 1911 Virginius Daniel Moody established Moody Engineering for construction and electrical engineering projects. During the 1920s the rapid development of the oil and gas industry in the USA created a large new client base for Moody's services. In 1948, the company started to expand globally with its first international office in Japan. From the 1960s, through the new millennium, further growth of Moody International has extended into all major regions including AsiaPacific, the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Today, the USD $500M Moody International Group boasts a presence of 80+ offices in more than 60 countries.
In 2011 Moody International will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
Services
The company International provides technical inspection services, technical training (through Randy Smith Training Solutions) and technical staffing services on a global basis, and management systems certification on a local basis.
