The club was refounded in 2003, and, after winning Eccellenza Apulia in 2004–05 (World Record of 102 points), has played Serie D/H in 2005/2006, ending it in second place, and successively reaching the Serie D playoff finals (and defeating Celano); therefore, Monopoli will play 2006/2007 in Serie C2. The clubs played in Lega Pro Seconda Divisione for 4 seasons and went bankrupt in June 2010.
After acquiring the sports rights of Liberty Molfetta the club changed its denomination to the current one in order to play in Eccellenza.
