Mona Kapoor is the daughter of Sattee Shourie and the first wife of Bollywood Film Producer Boney Kapoor.[1][2] She was born in Delhi, India on 3 February 1964. She has two children from her marriage to Boney Kapoor - a son Arjun Kapoor (25) and a daughter Anshula Kapoor (20).[3] Arjun is training to be an actor, while Anshula is studying at Barnard College, Columbia University in New York.[4]

As a director of FCL, she has been the production co-ordinator for the films 'Sheesha' (cast: Mithun Chakrovarthy, Munmun Sen and Mallika Sarabhai) & Farishtey (cast: Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Sridevi and Rajnikant). She has been responsible for conceptualizing the special programme 'Nari Ek Shakti' on DD1 on the occasion of International Women's Day.[6]
She has produced successful television shows like Hera Pheri (on Star Plus featuring Shekhar Suman, Reema Lagoo and Tanaaz Curim), Yug (on Doordarshan), Wilayatee Babu (on Doordarshan) and Kaise Kahoon (Zee tv). Yug was widely acclaimed by both viewers as well as the media and sponsors. This mega serial with the backdrop of the independence struggle and boasting of an impressive star cast of the likes of Hema Malini, Dara Singh, Neena Gupta, Mukesh Khanna, Shahbaz Khan, Pankaj Dheer has been receiving several re-telecast requests in various regional languages.
Mona has also served as a Jury Member of the Indian Telly Awards in 2005.[7]
After Boney Kapoor moved out of the house, Mona Kapoor continued to live with her in-laws for 10 years.[8] She now lives with her two children.[9]
