Pittsburgh PenguinsPlaying career 2006–present Moises Gutierrez (born July 20, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey player who is currently a free agent.
Career
Gutierrez spent four years in the Kamloops Blazers organization before having an eight game stint with Pittsburgh's ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers, in 2006. In eight games, he did not score but he did accumulate 14 penalty minutes. He would return to the WHL for the 2006–07 season with the Everett Silvertips, where he scored 35 goals, which was tops among all Silvertips players that season.
Since becoming professional, Gutierrez has spent most of his time in the ECHL. He played his first full professional season with the Texas Wildcatters and was briefly recalled by their parent club, the Houston Aeros, for six games during the 2007–08 season. Gutierrez would split the 2008–09 season with the Binghamton Senators and the Elmira Jackals. He was signed by the Alaska Aces on October 28, 2008, but only played one game with the organization before being waived.[1] A week later, Gutierrez was claimed off waivers by the Johnstown Chiefs.[2] After thirteen games with the Chiefs, Gutierrez was suspended by the team after Gutierrez left the team[3] to play with Arboga IK, a third-level Division 1 team based in Arboga, Sweden.
Gutierrez was signed by the Las Vegas Wranglers on January 5, 2011.[4] He played three games with the team before being released by the team on January 10, 2011.[5]
