Education

He holds a B.Sc., a Lic. a M.Sc. in physics from the University of Engineering, a DEA, a doctorat de 3eme cycle and a doctorat d´Etat from the Paris-Sud 11 University.

Academic activities

Montoya is affiliated as professor to the National University of Engineering and he teaches science and technology subjects at Centro de Preparación para la Ciencia y Tecnología (Ceprecyt).[1]

Research

His research work was on cold fission at the CEA Saclay, he participated on the discovering the nucleon-pair breaking in cold fission,[2][3] phenomenum studied also by Hervé Nifenecker[4] in cold fission of uranium 233, uranium 235 y el plutonium 239.He studied also the mass and kinetic energy distribution of fragments in cold fission [5]

Between 1985 and 1986 he was guest scientist at (GSI) in Darmstadt in the group led by Peter Armbruster, dedicated to research on transuranides nuclei.[6][7] At GSI published his work on Coulomb and shell effects in low energy fission.,[8][9]

As guest scientist at the Institut de Physique Nucléaire, Orsay, in the Bernard Borderie's group, he participated in research on deeply inelastic collisions.[10] He was also invited by the Carnegie-Mellon Institute in the Morton Kaplan group dedicated to ternary fragmentations in nuclear collisions.[11]

He now studies effects of neutron emission on fragments fission measurements,[12][13],.[14]

Promoting science and technology

As an opinion leader on science and technology in Peru, Montoya has published a number of articles on the main Peruvian newspapers.[15]

He is continuously interviewed by newspapers about science and technology subjects.[16]

As part of his promoting actions he found the International Scientific Meeting (ECI) for which is recognized by international institutions.[17]
