The postcode district is part of the LONDON post town. Sectors 4, 5 and 6 are in use. There are no dependent localities used in the postcode district. The numbered district was created in 1917 and was originally designated as the Sydenham postal district. Demography

Coverage

The postcode district is mainly within the London Borough of Lewisham with small parts in the south east around New Beckenham in the London Borough of Bromley and in the west near Dulwich within the London Borough of Southwark. It covers Sydenham, including Upper Sydenham, Sydenham Hill and Lower Sydenham. The south western boundary is Crystal Palace Park.
