Postal arrangements

The postcode district is part of the LONDON post town. Sectors 1, 2 and 3 are in use. There are no dependent localities used in the postcode district. The numbered district was created in 1917 and was originally designated as the Forest Hill postal district. There has been no significant recoding of the district from 1990 to 2007. There are Post Office branches in the district at Dartmouth Road, Brockley Rise and Stanstead Road. [Post Office - [http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/finder?catId=20700386 Branch locator] ] The old postal delivery office has a locally listed frontage with a carving of the Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom on the portico. The new delivery office is in a modern building on an industrial estate located off Perry Vale.

Demography

The average age of residents is 34.

Coverage

The postcode district is mainly within the London Borough of Lewisham, with small parts to the north around Honor Oak and west around Dulwich in the London Borough of Southwark.
