Modenese Masters

Modenese Masters: The Modenese Masters are three 18th-century chess masters and writers:

Domenico Lorenzo Ponziani (1719-1796)

Ercole del Rio (1718-1802) and

Giambattista Lolli (1698-1769).

They all lived in the Italian town Modena, near Bolongna. Their works contain what is known as the "Modenese school of chess".
