- Modenese Masters
-
The Modenese Masters are three 18th-century chess masters and writers:
- Domenico Lorenzo Ponziani (1719-1796)
- Ercole del Rio (1718-1802) and
- Giambattista Lolli (1698-1769).
They all lived in the Italian town Modena, near Bolongna. Their works contain what is known as the "Modenese school of chess".
