Mocro

Mocro

Mocro is a sobriquet, in use since the late 20th century. It came to wider awareness in 2005 when the rapper Ali B's single "Leipe Mocro Flavour" was released. The song reached # 2 position in the Dutch Top 40.

Sometimes the term is also used for all people with origins in Africa north of the Sahara, but that is wrong. The term is used exclusively by Moroccans, but another minority use it, but when a white man or woman is used, it is seen as discrimination. The term is particularly popular in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Spain.
