Mobovivo is a Canadian software company that enables broadcasters and other video content publishers to distribute television shows on various devices. The company was the first company in Canada to licence and distribute television programming online.[1][2]

History
Mobovivo was founded by entrepreneur, TV producer and author Trevor Doerksen. In 2006, it became the first company to offer legal television content for the iPod in Canada, beating Apple to market.[3] In 2007, the company signed a deal with DivX to allow DivX to bundle Mobovivo television shows with their consumer system.[4] In 2009 Mobovivo was profiled as one of IDC Canada's "10 Canadian Mobile Consumer and Enterprise Solutions to Watch". [5]
In May 2009, Mobovivo announced distribution for top ten hit TV program, The Tudors, a BBC, CBC, and Showtime co-production. [6] In June 2009, the company announced distribution for BBC Worldwide programming. [7]
In October 2011, Mobovivo was named one of Deloitte's Top 10 Companies to watch. [8]
Trevor Doerksen
In addition to founding Mobovivo and serving as its CEO, Trevor Doerksen has written numerous articles about the internet and video technology. He is also the author of a chapter in Handbook on Information Technologies for Education and Training.[9]
Trevor Doerksen completed an M.Sc. at the University of Calgary on Content Repurposing Theory in 2002.[10][11]
In April 2010, Trevor was awarded the People's Choice Award for Entrepreneur of the Year by Digital Alberta.[12] In July 2010, Trevor was named one of Alberta's 50 most influential people. [13]
