Mitchell Garber Born Montreal Nationality Canadian Occupation business executive/lawyer Mitchell (Mitch) Garber is a Canadian born business executive and former practicing attorney.
Garber is CEO of Caesars Interactive Entertainment, a subsidiary of Caesars Entertainment Corporation.[1] He is responsible for the World Series of Poker globally as well as all interactive businesses worldwide for the Caesars casino brands which include Harrah's, Caesars Palace, WSOP, and others.
From 2006-2008 Garber was CEO of London Stock Exchange listed online entertainment and gaming leader PartyGaming Plc.[2] As CEO of PartyGaming, Garber is credited with successfully diversifying the company's business through a series of mergers and acquisitions, and new product development. Garber left Partygaming in May 2008.[3]
Prior to joining PartyGaming, he was CEO of Optimal Payments Inc, (Nasdaq) from 2002-2006,[4] and held senior executive positions at Terra Payments Inc. (Toronto Stock Exchange) from 1999-2002.
He holds a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Relations from McGill University (1986) and a Law Degree from the University of Ottawa (1989). He was a practicing attorney from 1990-1999 specializing in gaming law. During that time he was also a television and radio sportscaster in Montreal.[5]
He is featured in the book, The Secrets of CEO's, by Steve Tappin and Andrew Cave.[6] He is a member of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys (IAGA). In September 2009 he was named one of the 10 most influential people in the gaming industry by Global Gaming Business magazine. [7]. He has spoken on gaming and the internet in the British House of Lords, and has given expert testimony in the Canadian Senate, assisting in the shaping of gaming policy in Canada. [8].
He has worked and lived in a number of countries. He and his wife Anne-Marie Boucher, a tax attorney, and their two sons, live in Montreal, Canada, and are active in philanthropy in Israel, Russia, the United Kingdom and Canada.
