Missy Chase Lapine is an American author. She is best known for her cookbook The Sneaky Chef, published in 2007. Before the release of The Sneaky Chef, Lapine was publisher of Eating Well magazine [1]
Controversy
Lapine was involved in a controversy regarding the cookbook Deceptively Delicious, by Jessica Seinfeld, wife of Jerry Seinfeld. On January 7, 2008, Lapine sued Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld for defamation, plagiarism, or copyright and trademark infringement in the Manhattan, U.S. District Court.[2] On September 10, 2009, the federal judge on this case threw out the plagiarism claims.
On April 29, 2010, Jessica Seinfeld also won Lapine's appeal in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. [3]
On February 25, 2011, Justice Marcy Friedman dismissed the defamation case against Jerry Seinfeld. [4]
