Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries is an upcoming Australian television drama series for ABC1 to screen in 2012. It is based on Phryne Fisher, the main character in Australian author Kerry Greenwood's series of Phryne Fisher detective novels. [1] Phryne Fisher will be played by Essie Davis and the series will feature Nathan Page, Miriam Margoyles and Hugo Johnstone-Burt.[2]
There are thirteen one-hour episodes of this series, produced by Fiona Eagger and Deb Cox. It is written by Deb Cox, Shelley Birse, Michael Miller, Liz Doran, Kelly Lefever, Ysabelle Dean and Jo Martino.[3]
Overview
Phryne (pronounced fry - née) is a wealthy aristocrat who lives in St Kilda, Melbourne in the 1920s. The book series begins with Phryne as a 28 years old detective who solves all manner of crimes with her assistants Bert and Cec and her maid Dot.
