Mirage Island

Mirage Island (66°48′S 141°27′E / 66.8°S 141.45°E / -66.8; 141.45) is a rocky island 0.25 nautical miles (0.5 km) long lying 0.3 nautical miles (0.6 km) west of Cape Mousse. Charted in 1950 by the French Antarctic Expedition and so named by them because mirages were frequently observed in the vicinity of the island.
