The Ministry of Water and Irrigation is the government ministry principally responsible for water supply, water resources, and irrigation in Tanzania.
Offices are located in Dar es Salaam;[1] the sitting Minister for Water and Irrigation is the Hon. Prof. Mark Mwandosya (MP).[2]
Operations and organization
The work of the Ministry is divided into Core Function, having to do with water and irrigation; and Support Function, having to do with administrative work. Core Function currently includes the following divisions:
- Water Resources Management Division
- Commercial Water Supply and Sewerage Services Division
- Community Water Supply Division
- Water Laboratory Unit
- Drilling and Dam Construction Agency
