Origin of MiniHostels
The original founder of MiniHostels is Liran Jakob. After successfully opening and operating a hostel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the MiniHostels idea was born. Serrana Robledo created all of the branding for MiniHostels including the famous "Mochi" character featured on the membership cards. Shortly after, Daniel Rosenberg and Ido Inbar joined in the further creation and expansion of the company and its international presence. Daniel Rosenberg left the company on May 1, 2010. Currently, Liran Jakob owns and operates MiniHostels, which is spreading rapidly throughout Latin America. MiniHostels was founded in June 2007 in Buenos Aires.
The name of the company, “Mini” Hostels was created based on the age-old concept that good things come in small packages. All hostels within the MiniHostels network are high quality facilities within safe locations. They only list smaller hostels rather than big hotels.
Business Overview
Currently, MiniHostels has over 300 affiliated hostels throughout South America [1]. For each of these hostels, MiniHostels provides a wide range of services that benefit the hostel, traveler, and other strategically related businesses affiliated with travel and tourism.
MiniHostels services include a custom built reservation system and booking engine. MiniHostels demonstrates additional value to hostels by providing reservations through their proprietary reservation system. Future services such as custom web design and back-office hostel operations management systems will also enhance the hostels affiliation with the MiniHostels network.
