History
Matthew Inman,[2] who also created The Oatmeal, designed, built and launched Mingle2 in 66.5 hours while working a day job. He wanted to create a site that offered free dating and novel features in the already saturated dating market.[3]
The Mingle2.com domain was acquired by MingleNet LLC in September 2007. MingleNet also owned JustSayHi.com, which later became the new Mingle2.com in mid early 2009. On Jan. 7, 2009 Mingle2 was rated the fifth-most popular free dating site in America.[4]
