Miles Island

Miles Island (66°4′S 101°15′E / 66.067°S 101.25°E / -66.067; 101.25) is a rocky island 3 nautical miles (6 km) long, lying just north of Booth Peninsula in the Mariner Islands. Mapped from air photos taken by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946-47, and named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for R.A. Miles, air crewman on U.S. Navy Operation Highjump photographic flights in this area and other coastal areas between 14 and 164 East longitude.
