Milan High School is the primary high school in Milan, Michigan. The school, a part of the Milan Area Schools, was built in 2003 after moving from North Street in downtown Milan. The former high school became Milan Middle School. The nickname is the Big Reds and the school colors are red and black. Following controversy with local townspeople of Native American ancestry, the former mascot, a native american chief known as the Big Red, was replaced by a block 'M'. No personified mascot has been used since.
